King's College London

King's College London was founded in 1828-9 by a group of eminent politicians, churchmen and others. King's was granted a royal charter by King George IV on 14 August 1829.The university has grown and developed through mergers with several institutions each with their own distinguished histories. These include:

  • United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals
  • Chelsea College
  • Queen Elizabeth College
  • Institute of Psychiatry.

In 2004 King’s College London celebrated its 175th anniversary. A special programme of events reflected the distinguished history of the College and its continued excellence in research and teaching.

Admission Criteria & Eligibility

The Indian High School Leaving Certificate (from CBSE and CISCE boards only) at the end of standard XII will generally be considered for direct entry onto undergraduate programmes with an overall average score of 80% and 90%. Comparable entry requirements:
A*AA Higher Secondary Certificate from Standard XII with 90% overall
AAA Higher Secondary Certificate from Standard XII with 85% overall
AAB Higher Secondary Certificate from Standard XII with 80% overall
ABB Higher Secondary Certificate from Standard XII with 80% overall
BBB Higher Secondary Certificate from Standard XII with 80% overall

Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE) / Cambridge C1 Advanced  191 overall with a minimum 185 in each skill
 Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) / Cambridge C2 Proficiency  191 overall with a minimum 185 in each skill
 IELTS (Academic)  7.5 overall with a minimum of 7.0 in each skill
 Occupational English Test (OET)  B grade in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
 Pearson Test of English (Academic)  75 overall with a minimum of 69 in each communicative skill
 TOEFL iBT Institution code: 0394  109 overall with 27 in writing and a minimum of 25 in each of the other skills
